ATC accepts Yasmin Rashid, Umar Cheema's appeals for treatment

Lahore (Web Desk): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore approved the requests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Yasmin Rashid and Umar Sarfraz Cheema to be transferred to hospital for medical treatment.

 ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan heard the application filed by PTI leader and former governor Punjab Umar Sarfraz Cheema's lawyers to transfer his client to the hospital for treatment.

During the hearing, the lawyers of former governor said that Cheema is suffering from back pain, unable to walk and is presented in the court on a wheelchair.

Meanwhile, ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan also accepted PTI leader and former Punjab health minister minister Dr Yasmin Rashid's request and allowed her to undergo cancer treatment in hospital.

Rashid had requested to get her examined for cancer at the Services Hospital, on which the court ordered jail authorities to take her to Services Hospital and conduct her cancer tests.

It is important to mention that both Yasmin Rashid and Umar Cheema are in jail for May 9 arson cases.
