Namira Salim all set to become first Pakistani astronaut in space

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistani adventurer traveller and female astronaut Namira Saleem, is all set to raise the Pakistani flag in the space on her upcoming space mission on October 5.

It should be noted that Namira Saleem is the first woman of Pakistan who also has the honour of reaching the poles and the first Asian to skydive (in tandem) from Mount Everest. She hoisted a peace flag on behalf of the nation at the two poles of the world.

Nimra will become first Pakistani astronaut in space by embarking on a space voyage with Virgin Galactic, the pioneering space enterprise led by the Richard Branson.

Before embarking on her journey, Namira met Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi to brief about the preparations for her space journey on October 5.

                                 

During the meeting, Saleem told that she had purchased the ticket in 2006 for the space expedition and then waited for this historic opportunity for 17 years.

Namira Saleem expressed her determination to raise the Pakistani flag in space.

Solangi congratulated Namira Saleem on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, the Prime Minister and the people for starting the space journey and expressed good wishes for her success.

It is important to mention that Namira was first launched by the government as the First Pakistani Astronaut in 2006. Since then, as a private citizen, she have made several humble yet significant contributions to our space programme and worked in close association with Suparco.
