Islamabad (Web Desk): Malaysia's national carmaker Proton will set up its first South Asian factory in Pakistan in a joint effort between the carmaker and its local partner Alhaj Automotive.
Malaysia high commissioner to Pakistan Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim said that an agreement was inked by Proton and its local partner, Alhaj Automotive near Karachi in Sindh province.
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan are expected to witness the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony of Proton’s plant on Friday.
Dr Mahathir will begin his three-day official visit to Pakistan on Thursday.
