Pakistan's COVID-19 recoveries reach 275,317

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 275,317 on Saturday after another 1,738 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 292,174 after 586 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.

Overall, 127,691 cases were reported in Sindh, 96,057 in Punjab, 35,602 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,473 in Balochistan, 15,472 in Islamabad, 2,638 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 2,241 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,231 with 10 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, during his official two-day visit to China, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi exchanged views on Covid-19 and agreed to further strengthen cooperation in developing a vaccine to defeat the virus.

Addressing the media alongside Qureshi, the Chinese foreign minister said since the outbreak of the virus, China and Pakistan have worked together to help each other in times of difficulty.

Wang Yi said both countries shared their experiences in preventing the virus and provided medical supplies to each other, setting an example of inter-country cooperation in the fight against Covid-19.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 23 million and death toll tops 800,000.
