PTI challenges general election results in top court

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat on Friday announced to challenge results of the general election 2024.

Marwat, in his petition, prayed to the court that the interior ministry should be directed to form a judicial commission to probe the rigging allegations in general elections, adding that to halt the process of formation of new governments in the Centre as well as provinces.

The PTI also prayed to the apex court that the appointment of the chief election commissioner and Election Commission members should be declared null and void.

Marwat challenged formation of the committee to probe allegations levelled by former Rawalpindi commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha.
