PSL 9: Peshawar Zalmi beat Multan Sultans by 5 runs

Multan (Web Desk): Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by five runs in the 9th match of the 9th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday.

After winning the toss, Peshawar Zalmi decided to bat first and scored 179 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.

In reply, Multan Sultans were all out at 174 runs in allotted twenty overs.

Peshawar Zalmi’s Haseebullah scored 37 runs and Babar Azam played an innings of 31 runs. 
Apart from this, Romain Powell 23, Mohammad Haris 19, Powell Walter 1, Asif Ali scored 13 runs while Luke Wood remained unbeaten with 17 runs.

On behalf of Multan Sultans, David Valli, Muhammad Ali and Osama Mir dismissed 2 players each while Shah Nawaz Durmani and Abbas Afridi got one wicket each.

Chasing the 180-run target for Multan Sultans, Yasir Khan scored 43, Muhammad Rizwan was back to pavilion with zero. Reese Hendricks 28, David Milan 52, Khushdil Shah 5, Iftikhar Ahmed 16, Usama Mir 12, David Vale zero, Abbas Afridi 11, Muhammad Ali returned to pavilion with one score.

Bowling for Peshawar Zalmi, Luke Wood, Naveen Haq and Salman Irshad took two wickets each while Paul Walter one and Arif Yaqub took three wickets.

In today’s match, Multan Sultans played without any change while Peshawar Zalmi made 3 changes as Haseebullah, Paul Walter and Naveen-ul-Haq were included in the squad replacing Codemore, Amir Jamal and Mohammad Zeeshan.
