COVID-19: Pakistan reports 309 new cases in 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan are slowly creeping up as 309 new infections were reported in the country during last 24 hours.

As per data shared by the National Institute of Health (NIH), the positivity ratio is 2.22% percent while 80 patients are currently being treated in intensive-care units.

However, no death was reported from the Coronavirus during last 24 hours while 13,941 tests were conducted across the country.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held in this regard was chaired by Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination Abdul Qadir Patel, on the current situation of COVID-19 in Islamabad.

The health minister said in view of the global pandemic situation, the Central Health Establishment should stringently monitor the health status of incoming passengers at points of entry.

The minister emphasised the importance of precautions including social distancing and mask-wearing, especially in crowded places.
