Two civilian martyred, one injured in LoC firing by Indian forces: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Two civilians embraced martyrdom while another was critically injured after the Indian Army opened fire on a group of shepherds in Sattwal sector along the Line of Control (LoC), the military's media wing said on Saturday.

According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations, (ISPR), Indian Army, in a display of its usual inhumane approach towards innocent Kashmiris, opened fire on civilians at 11:55 today.

The statement said that the Shaheeds (martyrs) included 22-year-old Obaid Qayyum son of Muhammad Qayyum, and 55-year-old Muhammad Qasim son of Muhammad Din, residents of Village Bara Dari Tetrinote, Tehsil Hajira District Poonch.

"Driven by a newfound geo-political patronage, Indian forces have embarked on a plan to take innocent lives to satiate their false narratives and concocted allegations," the military's media wing said.

The ISPR said that Pakistan reserves the right to respond back in a manner of its choosing to protect Kashmiri lives in the LoC belt, regardless of the strong protest being launched from the Indian side.

The statement added that the Indian side is reminded to respect basic human rights of Kashmiris, particularly, their inalienable right to till their lands.
