COVID-19: Pakistan reports 301 new cases, 2 deaths in last 24 hours 

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,293,715 on Monday after 301 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 480,710 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 444,610 in Punjab, 181,235 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 33,624 in Balochistan, 108,450 in Islamabad, 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,657 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 44,129 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 0.68%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,909 with 2 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,254,975 after another 116 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, coronavirus booster vaccination of fully immunized people in In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) starts from today (Monday).

People, who have received vaccine shots six months ago, are eligible for the booster dose of Pfizer vaccine.

About 13 million people, half of the province's population, have taken the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 12 million people have taken the second dose so far.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 280.353 million and death toll tops 5,417,470.
