PSL 9: Peshawar Zalmi beat Islamabad United by 8 runs

Lahore (Web Desk): Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United by 8 runs in the 13th match of the 9th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday.

Islamabad United won the toss and decided to filed first.

Batting first, Peshawar Zalmi scored 201 runs for loss of 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.
Zalmi's openers provided a brilliant start whie Saim and Babar made a partnership of 77 runs. Saim Ayub returned to the pavilion after scoring 38 runs off 21 balls.

After the fall of the first wicket, Mohammad Haris scored 2 runs on a total of 80, and Haseebullah Khan, without any score went back to pavilion.

Captain Babar Azam first made a partnership with Wal Walter who scored 19 runs and then Romain Powell who scored 8 runs to take the team to a total of 124.

Babar Azam completed the second century of his PSL career and 11th T20 cricket century on 59 balls.

Chasing the target, Islamabad United could score only 193 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
Jordan Cox scored 13, Colin Munro 71, Shadab Khan 6, Aghasulman 14, Azam Khan 75, Haider Ali 0, Faheem Ashraf 1, Imad Wasim 1, Hunain Shah 0, Naseem Shah 8 while Tymal Mills could score only single run.

For Zalmi, Saeem Ayub, Lokwoodand Naveen Haq got one wicket each, Arif Yaqub got five while Salman Irshad dismissed one player.
