Australia beat Pakistan by 79 runs in second Test to clinch series

Melbourne: Australia defeated Pakistan by 79 runs in the second Test match, to clinch the three-Test match series, played in Melbourne. 

Australia have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-Test match series after today's win on Friday.

On the fourth day of play, Australia continued their second innings at 186 for 6 and were all bowled out for 262, with Alex Carey scoring 53 runs. Mitchell Marsh was dismissed for 96 runs while Steve Smith scored 50, Pat Cummins got 16 runs, Nathan Line 11 and Mitchell Starc returned to the pavilion with 9 runs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mir Hamza dismissed 4 players each, while Aamir Jamal took two wickets.

On the fourth day of the Test match, the Pakistan team was bowled all out for 237 runs in their second innings in pursuit of the target of 317 runs.

In the second innings, Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed for four runs, while Imamul Haq also returned to the pavilion on an individual score of 12. The third dismissed player was Shaan Masood, who was dismissed for 60 runs.


Babar Azam scored 41 runs and was clean bowled by Josh Hazlewood while Saud Shakeel scored 24 runs and was caught out behind the wickets off Starc, Mohammad Rizwan also scored 35 runs and was a victim of Pete Cummins while Amir Jamal He was also caught out by Pat Cummins for no run.
Salman Ali Agha played an innings of 50 runs while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mir Hamza were also dismissed for zero.
