India plans to host Miss World contest in IIOJK

New Delhi (Web Desk): Miss World organization will hold this year's international beauty pageant in the Illegally Indian Occupied Kashmir (IIOJK) as part of a month-long series of events across India.

Miss World Organization chair Julia Morley said that “India will host a month-long series of events for the annual international beauty pageant from November to December, with part of the schedule to be held in occupied Kashmir.”

The Miss World beauty contest in the disputed territory is the latest in a series of moves by India to show that Indian-held Kashmir is a part of the country.

Dissent has been criminalized, media freedoms and public protests limited, critics say this a drastic curtailment of civil liberties by Indian authorities.

Earlier in May, India hosted a G20 tourism meeting in Srinagar under tight security in order to show normalcy and peace in the region after a massive crackdown following revocation of the region’s limited autonomy in 2019.
