PM launches healthcare scheme for transgender community

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday launched Sehat Insaf Card for transgender community of Pakistan.

Addressing the health cards distribution ceremony among the transgender in Islamabad, he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PT) government will provide treatment facility to all deserving people in the country.

The prime minister assured the transgender community that the government will protect their rights, which were neglected during past regimes.

"Government believes in serving all segments of society without any discrimination and provision of health cards to transgender people is manifestation of this commitment", the PM said.

Highlighting his government's future priorities, the premier said that the government will expand Ehsas programme by increasing network of the utility stores corporation and issuance of ration cards to provide kitchen items on subsidised rates.

He added that more Langar Khanas will be opened to provide free meals to the destitute and needy people in society.

"More loans will be provided to the youth to encourage entrepreneurship and 2020 will be the year of development and progress, which will bring prosperity to the people", PM Imran asserted.
