President, PM, others condole death of Asim Jameel

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Dr Arif Alvi and Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and several other personalities on Monday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of the son of renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil.

Asim Jamil committed suicide at his residence in Talamba police and family sources said on Sunday.

In his condolence message on social X (formerly Twitter), the president said death of a young son was truly a painful moment.

“My sympathies are with Maulana Tariq Jamil and his family,” he said.

The president prayed that may Allah Almighty grant Maulana Tariq Jamil and his family patience in this difficult time .

Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Asim Jameel.

In a statement, the premier prayed that May Allah Almighty grant the deceased a place in Jannah and grant patience to the bereaved families to bear this loss.

Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Ahsan Iqbal and other leaders also offered condolences to the grieved family.

 Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi on Sunday expressed deep grief and sorrow over demise of Asim Jamil, son of a prominent religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil.

In a condolence message, he conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family and said he shared their grief.

The minister also prayed to the Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
Solangi said that the death of a young son was a big tragedy.

In a heartfelt message, Caretaker Minister for Interior Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti Monday expressed his condolences to renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil and his family over the tragic demise of his son, Asim Jamil.

The loss of a young son, Bugti emphasized, brought unimaginable sorrow and grief to the Maulana.

The minister prayed for the departed soul’s peace and the family’s strength to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity and fortitude.

Asim Jamil, the son of renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Maulana Tariq Jamil, committed suicide at his residence in Talamba police and family sources said on Sunday.

According to sources, Asim was exercising at his gym located in the farmhouse while a guard was standing alert for his security. Asim took the pistol from the guard and shot himself in the chest, they added.

Multan Regional Police Officer Capt (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry said that according to the CCTV footage, “Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son committed suicide as he snatched the pistol from his guard during the middle of a workout and shot himself in the chest”.

The RPO said that Asim was suffering from mental illness as he had been using mental health medicine for a long time.

Earlier, Maulana Tariq Jamil himself shared the tragic news on social media platform X, requesting prayers for the departed soul.
