Mumbai (Staff Report): Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father Krishnaraj Rai passed away on Saturday evening.
Krishnaraj Rai was keeping unwell and was in a critical condition for more than two weeks now. His family was constantly by his side.
Krishnaraj Rai was hospitalized over two weeks ago due to health-related issues but reportedly his condition gone severe.
Earlier, the actress cut her Dubai trip short and returned to Dubai as soon as her father was hospitalized.
Her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, also rushed back from New York to be by his ailing father-in-law’s side.
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya’s father-in-law, had also excused himself from attending The Luxor African Film Festival in Egypt due to Krishnaraj’s illness
He was expected to be there on March 21 and 22. Bachchan was to be honoured during the closing ceremony of the sixth edition of the film festival.
Krishnaraj was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital where he had undergone a treatment for cancer in the past and apparently the cancer had relapsed.
He is survived by wife Vrinda, son Aditya and daughter Aishwarya.
