COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,411 new cases, 56 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,246,538 on Friday after 1,411 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 457,928 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 431,666 in Punjab, 174,017 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 32,926 in Balochistan, 105,516 in Islamabad 10,328 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,157 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 49,049 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 2.87%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 27,729 with 39 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,170,590 after another 1,024 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, a British study reveals that it is safe for people to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and a flu shot at the same time and it does not negatively impact the immune response produced by either.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 234.615 million and death toll tops 4,798,574.
