Khunjerab Pass reopens for travel, trade

Gilgit (Web Desk): Khunjerab Pass has been reopened for travel and trade between Pakistan and China.

The border-crossing, which remained shut for four months, is now expected to keep functioning throughout the year.

Pakistani and Chinese flags were hoisted on the occasion and national anthems were played.

Last year, then-caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing where the two sides agreed to make the Khunjerab Pass operational throughout the year.
