Covid-19: Pakistan reports 424 new cases, 10 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 281,925 on Thursday after another 466 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 297,014 after 424 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.

Overall, 129,827 cases were reported in Sindh, 96,983 in Punjab, 36,340 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,935 in Balochistan, 15,689 in Islamabad, 2,935 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 2,305 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,328 with 10 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 76 countries have committed to joining a global Covid-19 vaccine allocation plan co-led by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that aims to help buy and fairly distribute the shots, the project's co-lead said.

The chief executive of the project said the coordinated plan, known as COVAX has more than 70 nations signed up, agreeing to procure Covid-19 vaccines through the facility for their populations.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 26.11 million and death toll tops 863,000.
