Avenfield case: Nawaz requests court to delay final verdict

London: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif requested Accountability Court (AC) to delay its decision regarding Avenfield reference case for some more days, as her wife, Kulsoom Nawaz’s condition is critical.

“Kulsoom Nawaz’s condition is critical; she is on ventilator for last 21-days, she does not know that Maryam Nawaz and I are here in London to inquire after her health. I wish to see my wife in conscious, I will return Pakistan when she gets better,” Nawaz Sharif said while talking to media. “Yesterday doctors conducted her lungs surgery,” he added.

“I myself will appear before the judges and accept their verdict; I respect court and never ever went against it in my life. I will not leave the country like dictator, as I am a public representative,” former premier said. “I am ready to render sacrifice for people and honor of the votes, Nawaz said.

“The votes of Pakistani nation on 25 July will change the fate of the country,” Nawaz said during media talk. “I will continue my efforts for the development of the country,” he added.

Accountability Court on 3 July preserved its decision regarding Avenfield reference case and announced to give final verdict on 6 July.
