Death surges to over 9,400 as Israeli bombing hits UN-run school in Gaza

Gaza: More than at least 9,400 people have been martyred in the Palestinian territory since the conflict with Israel erupted last month.

According to the health ministry in the Gaza Strip, at least 9488 Palestinian including 399 children were martyred since Israel began striking the Gaza Strip in retaliation to the October 7 attacks carried out by Hamas fighters in southern Israel.

Palestinian photojournalist, Motaz Azaiza, writes in a post on X, “The Israeli warplanes just bombed a building in front of Al-Quds hospital in Gaza city.”

Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra at a press briefing said that over 32 primary care medical facilities are out of service, either due to lack of fuel or their total destruction.

The generators of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza Strip have “completely” shutdown due to fuel shortage, the Interior Ministry in Gaza said.

The Israeli military said it was striking what it described as “a number of Hezbollah terror targets in Lebanon” following fire from there.

Lebanon’s powerful Hezbollah group is backed by Iran, as is Hamas. Its leader on Friday warned that conflict could spread if Israel continued bombing Gaza.

On Saturday, Blinken is also due to meet the Saudi, Qatari, Emirati, and Egyptian foreign ministers, as well as Palestinian representatives in Amman, the Jordanian foreign ministry said.
