Security forces kill two terrorists in Tank IBO: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): At least two terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank district of Khyber-Pakthunkhwa (KP), the military's media wing said on Friday.

According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the IBO was launched after reports of terrorist presence in the area and an intense exchange of fire took place.

One of the terrorists killed was identified as Gul Yousaf aka Toor, a high-value target.

"Terrorist Gul Yousaf remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces including high profile terrorist attacks in Tank and DI Khan districts as well as extortion and target killing of innocent civilians,” the statement said.

It added that the killed terrorist had a bounty of Rs2.5 million for his capture.

The military’s media wing said that local populace appreciated the efforts of the security forces in maintaining peace and stability in the area.

"Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country," the ISPR said.
