Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Sajjad Ali Shah dies

Karachi: Former chief Justice of Pakistan Sajjad Ali Shah,84 dies at a local Karachi hospital.

Syed Sajjad Ali born on February 17, 1933) was the Chief Justice of Pakistan from 4 June 1994 to 2 December 1997. Famous for his 1997 controversy with the then Prime minister Nawaz Sharif and a Supreme Court Judicial Commission verdict he has to resign away. It was a first precedent that a sitting PM was called for a legal hearing at Supreme Court and PMLN supporters famously attacked the apex court when the PM  Nawaz Shairf appeared in the court.
