Country heading towards economic stability: Murtaza Solangi

Quetta (Web Desk): Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has expressed satisfaction that the country is heading towards economic stability.

Addressing a news conference along with Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai in Quetta today, he pointed out that Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) crossed 66,000 points today during trading, while dollar also depreciated.

Quoting the report of Bloomberg, the minister said Pakistan is on the agenda of International Monetary Fund (IMF) board on January 11.

The information minister said general elections will be February 8 and there should be no doubt about it.

Solangi reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the country.

"it is our responsibility to extend full facilitation to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)," he said.

Responding to a question, said the state media will be modernized and its capacity will be increased.

The information minister expressed the confidence that the state media would come at par with the world's best broadcasters and its future is not bleak, but bright.
