PM Imran inaugurates Islamabad isolation hospital, infectious treatment center

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Islamabad isolation hospital and infectious treatment center on Thursday.

The 250-bed state of the art medical facility has been constructed in record 40 days at a cost of about Rs980 million.

Talking to media after inaugurating the hospital, the PM commending completion of a modern isolation hospital in a record short period.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that important tasks can be completed with political will.

The premier expressed satisfaction that with the cooperation of all the departments concerned the curve of coronavirus cases in the country is on the decline.

"Smart lockdown has yielded positive results," PM Imran noted.

The prime minister appealed to the nation to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with simplicity, strictly observing standard operating procedures (SOPs) against coronavirus.

"Any carelessness on the occasion of Eid may lead to a fresh spike in the cases of COVID-19," the PM said.

Earlier, National Disaster Management (NDMA) Chairman Lt. General Muhammad Afzal briefed the prime minister about the isolation hospital.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing, Planning Minister Asad Umar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
