Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former premier Imran Khan has been arrested by Rangers in Islamabad.
The PTI chief was arrested in in the Al-Qadir Trust case from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) premises where he appeared to seek bail in multiple FIRs registered against him.
Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan confirmed that the PTI had been arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
In a tweet by the Islamabad Capital Territory Police, the IGP said that the situation of the federal capital was normal and as per the routine.
Dr Nasir Abkar said that the Section 144 was already imposed in the federal capital and action would be taken in case of any violation.
“No violence has been done against any individual during the arrest of PTI chief,” the Islamabad IGP said, adding that the police had created a cordon around the vehicle of Imran Khan to ensure his safety.

Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah said that the deposed premier did not appear in court despite notices for the case hearing of the land transfer of Al-Qadir Trust - for which Imran and his wife were presumably trustees.
He said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested him for damaging the national treasury. No violence was done to them," he added.

Meanwhile, IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Aamer Farooq has taken notice of the incident and has summoned Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police, the secretary interior and additional attorney general.
He has directed to inform immediately who was behind the arrest and in what case has Imran been arrested in.
The IHC CJ maintained that action will be taken, "even if it has to be taken against ministers".
The development comes a day after military’s rejection of accusations Imran Khan made against a serving senior intelligence officer.
Imran had accused the officer of involvement in the assassination attempt against him in Wazirabad.
Ahead of his departure to Islamabad from Lahore today, responded to the Inter-Services Public Relation's (ISPR) statement as he once again held a serving army official responsible for the assassination attempts on his life.
Following Khan'a arrest, PTI workers held protests in several cities across the country, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, and Mardan.
