JUI-F's Hafiz Hamdullah among 11 injured in Mastung blast

Mastung (Web Desk): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader and Pakistan Democratic movement's spokesperson Hafiz Hamdullah was injured in a roadside blast in Balochistan's Mastung area.

According to initial reports, the blast took place near a vehicle injuring Hafiz Hamdullah and three others.

Police rushed to the site of the incident and cordoned off the area.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mustang Abdul Razzaq Sasoli said that several people were injured in the blast.

He said that the three injured including JUI-F leader had been shifted to a hospital in Quetta.
Hafiz Hamdullah's condition is out of danger," the DC Mastung added.

JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri said that Hamdullah was injured but not critically.

He said that the JUI-F leader, his  gunmen and the others accompanying him also sustained minor injuries but they are okay. "There is no serious issue at the moment,” he said.

The spokesperson said that Hafiz Hamdullah and the others were travelling from Quetta to Kalat, adding that the incident occurred after they crossed Mastung.

Meanwhile, a department spokesperson said that 11 injured were shifted to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital in Mastung.

The spokesperson added that one of the persons is in critical condition.

The Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Mustang said 11 people including Hamdullah injured in the blast.

The nature of the Mustang explosion is being ascertained, the SSP added.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Mastung.

In a statement on Thursday, he expressed deep sorrow over the injuries to JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah and other people in the blast.

Terming the attack on JUI-F leader a dastardly act, the Prime Minister said the entire nation including him is united against terrorism.

He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki strongly condemned the blast and sought the report about the incident.

Balochistan caretaker Home Minister Capt (retd) Muhammad Zubair Jamali condemned the incident.

The provincial minister directed the authorities concerned to submit a report on the blast.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari condemned the blast and prayed for the recovery of the injured.

"Terrorists and their facilitators should be brought to justice," the former president said.

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani also strongly slammed the blast while praying for the speedy recovery of Hamdullah and others.

He called for the arrest of those who were involved in the incident.

Caretaker Federal Minister for Interior Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack on (JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah.

The minister prayed for the quick recovery of the JUI leader and others injured in the blast.

He said that the entire nation is united in war against terrorism and will never allow terrorist to succeed in their nefarious designs.

“Terrorists want to spread anarchy in the country,” said the minister adding that the government will not spare the enemies of the country’s development and peace.
