Parvez Elahi moves LHC against detention orders 

Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president and former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Monday challenged his detention order in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The petitioner has taken plea Parvez Elahi is being subjected to political victimization. Bail plea of Parvez Elahi has been approved in all cases.

It was further said in the petition bail has been granted to Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in terrorism  cases. The detention order of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi be suspended.

It may be mentioned that Police had  recommended to detain former CM Punjab under 3-MPO. Police had written letter to deputy commissioner Lahore to issue detention order.

According to police during investigation it surfaced  that Parvez Elahi can cause harm to law and order.

According to sources Deputy commissioner has not made any decision with reference to detention of Parvez Elahi.  The detention order of former CM Punjab has also not been issued by deputy commissioner office.

The petition filed by Parvez Elahi against not providing facilities of B class in jail had come up for hearing before Justice Amjid Rafiq.

Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was presented on the order of court.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government on Monday also filed an appeal against a local court's order granting protective bail to former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Pervaiz Elahi.

The PTI president, anti-corruption department and others have been made parties in the appeal against the single bench's decision to grant protective bail to Elahi.

It has been argued in the petition that the bench gave a decision contrary to the facts on the petition of the ex-Punjab CM.

The petition stated that Elahi is being investigated by the concerned investigating agencies as per the law, adding that the single bench has ignored the legal requirements in the judgment.

The Punjab govt requested the LHC to declare the decision of the single bench null and void and order the immediate suspension of the decision.
