PCB cancels remaining matches of PSL 5 amid coronavirus fears

Lahore (Staff Report/Agencies): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday announced to postpone all the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) the league amid coronavirus fears.

The decision has been taken by the PCB and PSL franchises unanimously.

A day earlier, Pakistan and Bangladesh had decided to postpone the upcoming one-day international and Test in Karachi for a later date.

The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has risen to 193 after the Punjab confirmed five more cases of COVID-19.

The sharp increase in cases was reported among pilgrims who have recently returned from Iran via Taftan.

Globally, 158 countries have been affected, more than 6,500 people have died and more than 170,000 infected by the disease called 'COVID-19' as it spreads rapidly to new territories.

The epicentre of the outbreak has now shifted to Europe, which is recording a rapid rise in new cases every day.
