Pakistan is a 'dear country' to all Saudis, says Crown Prince

Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has said that Pakistan is a "dear country" to all Saudis and that the two countries "have walked together in tough and good times".

Addressing a reception dinner at Prime Minister House hours after arriving in Pakistan, the crown prince — known as MBS for short — expressed optimism about the economic future of Pakistan, saying his country had been waiting for a leadership like that of PM Khan to partner with Islamabad in various areas.

The Saudi crown prince arrived in Islamabad on Sunday on a two-day visit. He was greeted by PM Imran and Army chief General Qamar Bajwa and given a red-carpet welcome with a 21-gun salute.

The Crown Prince will meet President Arif Alvi and Army Chief General Qamar Jawed Bajwa today (Monday).

MBS will be conferred with the country's highest civil award Nishan-e-Pakistan today (Monday). The Saudi leader will also be participating at an event slated to take place at the President House, where he will be honoured with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed a raft of investment deals Sunday worth up to $20 billion.
