Asad Umar tests positive for COVID-19

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Planning and Development and National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) chief Asad Umar has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

"Just got my covid test result and it is positive. Will be isolating at home," the federal minister wrote on Twitter.

On Saturday, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan rose to 454,673 after 3,179 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 9,250 with 87 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the tally of recovered patients across the country reached 404,501 after another 4,649 virus recoveries were reported in a day.
