ECC to discuss 6-point agenda today

Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will meet today (Monday) to review the six-point agenda.

According to sources, the meeting chaired by Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will discuss a proposal for importing wheat in order to avoid wheat crisis in the country.

The meeting will also review the exemption of 5 percent sales tax on the Khal Banola (used as fodder), the proposal to convert Lahore Garment City’s debt into loan, the supplementary grants of Rs 96.6 million to the Ministry of Education, may also approve supplementary grants of Rs 15 billion for the Ministry of Information Technology and Rs 450 million for Interior Ministry.
