Fawad Ch announces ‘complete boycott’ of Feb 8 polls

Islamabad: Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry on Monday announced that he and his “group” would “completely boycott” the upcoming general elections, scheduled to be held on February 8.

"The Election Commission has miserably failed in performing its duties," Fawad wrote in the letter, which his brother and lawyer Faisal Chaudhry shared on X — formerly Twitter.

“The Election Commission has miserably failed in performing its duties,” the former minister wrote in the letter, which his brother and lawyer Faisal Chaudhry shared on X — formerly Twitter.

Faisal wrote that Fawad and his group have boycotted the “fake elections”.

Fawad quit PTI after May 9 incident and joined Jahangir Khan Tareen-led Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) in June. He was arrested from Islamabad on November 4 in a corruption case and has been in custody since.
