Lahore (Web Desk): World Intellectual Property Day was observed on Monday to celebrate creativity and raise awareness about how copyright, trademarks and designs impact daily life.
This year’s theme of the Day is: ‘IP and SMEs: Take your ideas to markets’ aimed at promoting the role of small and medium enterprises in economy and how they can use intellectual property rights to build stronger and more competitive businesses.
WIPO, a specialized agency of the UN, is a global forum for intellectual property policy, services, information and cooperation. World Intellectual Property Day, which has been observed since 2000, marks the day in 1970 when the convention establishing WIPO entered into force.
