Riyadh (Web Desk): Saudi Arabia and Iran have agreed to hold bilateral foreign ministers' meeting during the holy month of Ramazan.
The understanding was reached during a telephonic conversation between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
This is the second phone call in a week during which they discussed a number of issues.
In their telephonic conversation on March 23, the two counterparts exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement the Saudi foreign minister stated that the two ministers agreed to meet soon in order to pave the way for the reopening of embassies and consulates between the two countries.
On March 10, Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to re-establish their diplomatic relations.
The official news agencies of both countries reported that the decision to this effect came following five days talks between senior Saudi and Iranian officials in Beijing.
Under an agreement brokered by China, Saudi Arabia and Iran announced on 10th of this month the resumption of diplomatic relations that was severed in 2016. Since then officials of both countries are in contacts with each other.
Riyadh and Tehran also agreed to activate the security cooperation agreement signed in 2001 and the trade, economy and investment agreement signed in 1998.
