COVID-19: Pakistan reports 4,191 new cases, 120 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,148,572 on Saturday after 4,191 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 428,254 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 388,296 in Punjab, 160,088 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 32,111 in Balochistan, 98,339 in Islamabad 9,835 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 31,649 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 61,306 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 6.87%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 25,535 with 120 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,029,930 after another 3,848 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, the NCOC has fixed charges for booster dose of coronavirus vaccine in the country.

The additional dose, which will cost Rs1270 to citizens, is being offered people planning to travel abroad.

Moreover, the NCOC tweeted that Pakistan has achieved a landmark of administering 50 million COVID-19 doses.

It also urged unvaccinated citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible. It also informed citizens, who are awaiting their second dose, to walk in at any vaccination center after 28 days.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 216.229 million and death toll tops 4,499,331.
