Army chief, DG ISI call on PM Imran

Islamabad (Staff Report): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar on Friday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM Office.

According to reports, security and regional stability situation were discussed during the meeting.

The PM was briefed on Operation Raad-ul-Fasaa, while relations with Afghanistan and FATA reforms also came under discussion.

Earlier, Pakistan Army had offered to assist the government in implementing the PM’s five million housing project.

The offer was made during a task force meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan to build around five million residential units for lower and middle-income segments of society.

Army’s representatives gave a detailed presentation to the PM and members of the task force on its experience in building low-cost housing units for its personnel, local media reported.

“Lt-Gen Moazzam Ajaz, the Quarter-Master General, made a detailed presentation on the army’s experience in catering to the housing needs of its personnel. He also offered Army’s assistance in implementing the five million housing projects” read a statement issued by the PM office after the meeting.
