LHWs protest on Mall Road enters in 5th day

Lahore (Staff Report): The protest of the lady health workers (LHW) from different districts of Punjab continued for the fifth consecutive day today (Friday).

According to details, due to protest the flow of traffic continues to be disrupted as Mall Road is closed for any type of traffic and civilians are facing troubles to reach offices, schools and colleges.

It is pertinent to remember that more than 250 LHWs on Monday staged sit-in protest on Mall Roadnear Lahore's Charing Cross overnight.

The LHWs claimed that they will continue protest till their demands are met. The LHWs demand a proper service structure and scale up gradation.

The health officials are expected to hold talks with the protesters today afternoon.

Yester, many female LHWs were fainted due to hot weather conditions and water deficiency, these ladies were shifted to nearby hospital, however, LHWs are not ready to end protest until their demands are fulfilled.
