DSP gunned down, nephew Inspector injured by unidentified assailants

Quetta (Staff Report): A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was shot dead while his nephew injured when an unidentified assailants opened fire outside a mosque on Jail Road in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to the police, DSP Headquarters Umar Rahman, along with his nephew Inspector Bilal Ahmad, was on his way to a mosque on Jail Road when unidentified armed men opened fire on them outside the mosque, injuring Umar and Bilal.

The injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital for further medical treatment, where DSP Rahman succumbed to his wounds.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri expressed condolence over the demise of the DSP and sought a report of the act of terrorism.
