Lahore: The anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Lahore extended interim bails of PTI leader Asad Umar and two sisters of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan till October 16, as Lahore police sought their arrests in Jinnah House attack case.
ATC presided the hearing on the bail pleas of all three. Both Aleema and Uzma were present in the court along with their lawyer Burhan Muazzam. The court had also summoned the lawyers for final arguments in the Lahore Corps Commander House vandalism and arson case.
During the hearing, Uzma Khan said they were attending the proceedings daily. “If sending us to jail will be justice, then so be it,” she remarked.
“We’re only asking for justice,” Aleema added. They were then stopped by her lawyer, from speaking further.
Earlier, the police have made request to arrest all three, saying they had been found guilty during investigation.
The investigation officer said the report by joint investigation team had found Asad Umar, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan as guilty, and their arrest was needed for investigation.
The officer said that Aleema Khan was known to be on the site of the attack on May 9. However, her lawyer Burhan said Aleema and Uzma Khan were not nominated in the case and demanded to see the statements that had called them guilty.
Talking to the media, PTI chairman's sister Aleema Khan said that Khan has lost weight but his spirits are high. She further added that Khan has no place for exercise and walk for which the petition has been filed.
Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan says that party chairman is disappointed with President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi because he could not fulfill his constitutional role, the President was supposed to hold elections in 90 days but he did not use his authority.
According to Aleema Khan, Chairman PTI says that preparations are being made for long imprisonment in the cipher case.
In response to a question, Aleema Khan said that if you want to put him in jail, then put him in jail, but we will never accept the conspiracy.
