PTI Chairman’s lawyer Naeem Panjotha arrested

Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s lawyer Naeem Haider Panjotha.

“Naeem Haider Panjotha Adv has reportedly been arrested by FIA. He went to FIA headquarters to join inquiry in Humayun Dilawar’s Facebook posts,” Sher Afzal Khan Marwat said in a tweet and added, “His clerk Usman has confirmed his detention but it is not yet clear as to whether Naeem has formally been arrested or not because the FIR could not be registered directly and without permission of IHC.”

“These measures would unite the legal fraternity and would not Khan's legal team from the discharge of it’s professional obligations. I will update u guys on the matter,” Marwat maintained.

On the direction of the IHC, the Cybercrime Circle of FIA had launched an inquiry against Panjotha.

Last week, the IHC referred the “controversial” Facebook posts of Judge Dilawar — who sentenced PTI chief Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case — to the FIA.
