Year’s prolonged fire in Landhi factory area

Karachi (Staff Report): Years prolonged fire in Landhi industrial area of the metropolis that erupted  on Friday afternoon could not be extinguished even after eighteen hours struggle.

Fire brigade officials reported, 16 fire tenders and two water bowsers are taking part in the fire-fighting operation at the factory.

According to details, no loss of life has been reported yet. There was reportedly at the time of the incident no labourer inside the factory.

Police reached the site after the fire erupted and called all the fire tenders to the site of the incident to extinguish the fire.

The fire surrounded the entire factory and has reached the third-floor of the factory while efforts are underway to douse the fire but cracks in the factory's walls are preventing protective measures due to the fear of walls crumbling down.

Private water tankers have been called to help the fire tenders as few fire tenders are running out of water.

Director KMC Masood Alam said, the fire was reported at 2:35 PM on Friday but the fire brigade vehicles reached the site late due to traffic and high intensity fire did not allow fire brigade officials to enter the building.
