Chairman Raza Rubbani stops working, offers resignation

Islamabad (Staff Report): Senate Chairman Raza Rubbani on Friday stopped performing his duties and returned the vehicle and protocol provided, saying the government is not serious to run the House.

Urging the government, Rabbani said, “I am ready to resign if government has any issue with me”.

Rubbani was unhappy with the absence of leaders of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

According to reports, the minister concerned was called to brief the House about the gas issue which had been highlighted by the Sindh government on Thursday.

The Senate chairman also issued warnings to additional, joint and federal secretaries, adding that he will take stern action according to the Constitution if anyone was found concealing information from the parliament. He also warned of strict action against those who will not answer the questions of parliamentarians without any valid reason.
