At least 20 injured after nine bogies of Khushhal Express derailed

Lahore (Staff Report): At least twenty passengers were injured after nine coaches of Khushhal Express derailed near Attock on Sunday.

The train was en route to Peshawar via Mianwali and Attock and the derailment took place between the Sohan Bridge and Makhad Road Railway Stations, Which is about 85 kilometres from federal Captial Islamabad, around 11am.

Rail traffic was suspended after the incident took place between the Sohan Bridge and Makhad Road railway stations.

According to the Railways ministry, a rescue train had been sent to the site of the incident.

The injured have been sent to the nearby hospital.

On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Rawalpindi Express and Mianwali Rail Car.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Railways, the Mianwali Rail Car consists of nine passenger coaches. The manufacturing cost of the rail car was Rs8.5 million, the statement added.
