Israeli forces fire tear gas at demonstrators in Hebron, arrest another 47 from West Bank

Gaza: Israeli forces have tired tear gas at protesters demonstrating against Israeli attacks in Gaza and carried out building-by-building searches at city’s main hospital, Palestinian activists and news agencies have reported.

Israel’s brutal air bombardment and ground operation has killed more than 11,500 Palestinians, including thousands of children, according to Gaza's health ministry.

Al-Shifa hospital has become a focal point for Israeli operations in northern Gaza since soldiers raided the complex on Wednesday, hunting for a command centre they say Hamas operates there. In the days-long search, Israeli forces have found no evidence of military activity at the hospital.

Hamas and hospital managers deny that charge, and there has been international concern about several thousand people -- including wounded patients and premature babies -- believed to be trapped inside.

Israeli forces have arrested 47 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank overnight, the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Affairs has said.

Most of the arrests (26) were in Nelin village by Ramallah, the commission said.

“Detention campaigns were accompanied by torture, intense beatings, threats to detainees and their families, and house vandalism,” it said.

A total of 2,800 Palestinians have been arrested since October 7.
