Security forces kill three terrorists during Tirah IBO: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): The security forces killed three terrorists during an intelligence based operation (IBO) in general area Tirah of Khyber district, the military's media wing said on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted the operation on the night of September 25-26 after they received tip-off about terrorists' presence in the area.

"During the conduct of the operation, an intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists which resulted in the killing of three terrorists," the statement said.

It added that the operation resulted in the killing of terrorist commander Kifayat Tor Adnan.

"Kifayat alias Tor Adnan, was actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against the law enforcement agencies as well as the killing of innocent civilians," read the statement. 

Later, sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists in the area.

"The security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism," the ISPR said.

Earlier last week, security forces also killed eight terrorists and arrested five others in IBOs conducted in two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
