Peshawar: Superintendent of Police (SP) Ijaz Khan embraced martyrdom and three others personnel including a DSP sustained injuries in an intelligence-based operation against terrorists in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the counter-terrorism department (CTD), two wanted terrorists were also killed in the exchange of fire in Mardan’s Katlang tehsil. One of them, who was identifies as Mohsin Kadir was a most wanted militant.
The injured police officials have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
The funeral prayers for the martyred SP Ijaz Khan were solemnly offered at the Police Lines and were attended by District Police Officer (DPO) Najeeb and other police officials.
