Lahore (Web Desk): The top multinational transportation services Uber has announced an in-app chat feature that lets riders and drivers communicate with one another without leaving the app to make its ride experience more pleasant.
The company said that drivers and riders can directly communicate with each other with this feature. They can see whether their messages have been delivered and read, and all communication will be done in a driver-friendly way.
When you have to book a ride, you will see the usual “Contact” button below the driver’s name. Tapping that will bring up a brand-new chatting window. If you need to call the driver, the option is still there on the top right corner.
According to Uber, “The application will read messages aloud for the drivers received from the rider. Drivers can acknowledge receipt with one tap to their app to send a ‘thumbs up’ to their rider. That way, they can stay focused on the road.”
The update is rolling out globally over the next few weeks.
